It's a good time to…

To write on Substack…

Write

I’m taking to Substack because I am procrastinating writing an essay. Finishing a screenplay. Revising a memoir manuscript. Substack was a place for other people’s writing. People who are published, famous, arrogant, or courageous. I’m curious about this medium. How is it different than writing on a WordPress blog – which I have, but haven’t written on for… awhile.

Wander

Call this a digital wandering. Instead of wandering aimlessly through the pixels of Instagram or Facebook, why not exercise my writing muscles writing a post on Substack. See if I can attract anyone to my Substack. Hopefully, not some bare-chested dude who thinks to highly of themselves. Really folks, what’s up with the follow requests on Insta from guys you don’t know who have no posts but have 2,000+ followers??? Go away already, you obviously can’t read that I’m married.

Community

I invite you to wander with this GenXer, ambiguously Latina, born and raised on the north side of Chicago, marine biologist, who is tall thanks to the DNA I share with my paternal German ancestry. Funny I didn’t add writer to that sentence. Cue imposter Syndrome. Join my community of people who struggle with what to include as their label.

Free and Flexible

With this first post, I am making a commitment to you the reader. I am not afraid of commitment, but I need your help to keep me going. Instead of asking you to pay a fee, I want you to share my posts, and refer my Substack to friends. My Substack strives to Entertain and Inspire through sharing. What does that mean? Stick around and find out.

Welcome!
